My son asked me what cannabis was, what should I do?!

Question: My son asked me what cannabis was, what should I do?
Well today I was sitting in my kitchen reading a sports magazine when my 16 year old son came in and asked me what cannabis was. I didn't really know what to do. My son has been smoking marijuana since he was 14, and he doesn't know what cannabis means? What should I do? I mean, is he just slow?

Wow, what an understanding parent. You know he is smoking an illegal drug and you do not do anything about it. Trying to be his buddy instead of his Dad ? cowboy up .

Sad state of things when he doesn't know what that is. Bad education, I guess he should be reading rather than smoking.

Educate your son on what it is...if he doesn't even know the proper name of what he's been smoking then it's not his fault it's probably yours for allowing such ignorant experimentation.

You should be glad it's not heroin he was asking about or "Hey Pop, what's an amphetamine?"

If you smoke and so does he, go ahead and educate him! It's not like he hasn't been smoking for years anyway...you could smoke with him for all we know.

Just make sure he's educated before he goes out in to the world! Otherwise, he might end up in a bad situation with no knowledge on how to stop it or better yet prevent it.

Marijuana is a plant! Plants are boring to the typical teenager..if you get in to the scientific part of it then he might not like it as much and if he does then great! It's a win win..
Knowledge is what needs to be enforced here.

No offence but your son is a dumbass. You should have just smacked him across the head told him what it meant. Also you might not be good parent yourself for allowing your son to smoke weed. no offence...

Obviously he's been smoking way too much....his brain is already fried. Slow? He's an idiot for smoking and you're no help if you haven;t stopped him two yrs ago

tell him what it is. he might just have never heard the word "cannabis", so tell him that it's just another word for weed.

He probably calls it something else. Tell him.

first things first. give the kid up for adoption. you have allready failed. no point trying to go on.

first that is a young age and i think you should get him some help or just tell him
