Left Hand Side Of Face All Swallen , why?!

Question: Left Hand Side Of Face All Swallen , why?
Ok the left hand side of my face/mouth has become really swallen, there is pain some times but other times it feels numb. The side of my mouth feels numb and i have a funny taste in my mouth. It has happened before and gone away, but this time it feels different. There are soft and hard bits on the side of my mouth/lining. Looking on the net just makes it come up with strange problems. Does any one have any ideas what it could be and what i should do. It feels like toothache but all the way up the side of my face

You do need this investigated , but one option might be a salivary duct stone.

GP for more years than I care to remember

Mumps. (swelling and pain and numb + raised temperature).

But sounds like a Blocked Salivary Gland (funny taste).

See your doctor if it doesn't follow the classic pattern of mumps.

Sounds like you need to see a dentist.
