Question: Should I take flomax or antibiotics?
I was diagnosed with prostatitis about a month ago and was given antibiotics for 15 days. I felt better while on the meds, but now that I am off them I feel like I have to pee all the time and having hard time starting the stream sometimes. My doctor gave me Flomax, but I am sort of hesitant to take it since it will only treat my symptoms and not the underlying cause of my problem. I have some antibiotics that I was given at first but had to stop taking due to allergies. Should I just start taking the antibiotics again incase I still have infection?

If you had to stop taking the antibiotics because you were allergic to them - then why wouldn't you STILL be allergic to them now?
If the doctor prescribed Flomax, follow his instructions to see how well it goes.
If, within a reasonable length of time the issue has not subsided - then go back & express your concerns to him - so he can try something else.
