Are schizophrenics usually filthy people with poor hygiene?!

well, my dad was schizophrenic but he was very very very neat when he had schizophrenia.. i guess different people are affected in different ways. schizophrenia makes people crazy, and different people react to that in different ways. my dad became really religious and really neat, then got abusive and eventually committed suicide.

i guess other people that get it might become really messy..

and maybe the people u know aren't actually schizophrenic.. it's not very common, so i don't see how you could know several people with an illness like that. Many people claim to have schizophrenia for attention, drama, excuses for things, etc. (no offense if you think i just called the people you know liars).

It isn't necessarily a sign of schizophrenia.

There are schizophrenics who are obsessed with cleanliness, also. And some people who are normal are just downright pigs.

It really depends on the individual. There is not standard behavior for all of the different types of schizophrenics.
