Put some lotion on the area and that will help. And you might want to consider just trimming it down instead of a full shave. It's a lot more comfortable.
It can be irritating to go to all the trouble of shaving your local park, and then getting no thanks for your hard work.. keep truckin.

I had this problem the first time I shaved. Now I use a razor that has an electric Bikini/Side burns shavor on the other side. If you use this side to shave your pubes, it looks GREAT and there is no pain at all to follow. GO BUY one, they aren't that much and there are lots of coupons out there for them!!!!!!
man i tried that once and i WILL NEVER EVER do that again, it felt like i had a cactus in my pants when i walked for about 2 weeks, it sucked
