what should i do? i'm 16

Answers:

I'm a photographer, and shoot some fashion, but not that much. There three big things you need to have to make it; confidence, determination, and good looks. You can't be shy to do whatever is asked of you in front of the camera. Make sure you work out and stay in shape. You don't have to be huge, but you should be fit. Look at meetup.com in your area to see if there are any model photography groups in your area. Start networking. Another thing to keep in mind is the three big cities in the US for modeling are new York, LA, and Miami. If you have any questions, email me and I'll answer them if I can.

Take no notice of the people who have said that you must be gay if you want to be a model (not a male model --- you are already a male).

As a couple of people have said, you need to be good looking, fit and photogenic.

Get your parents to take photographs of you while you copy the poses of models in magazines. This will give you a good idea of how photogenic you are --- good looking does not always equal photogenic. Even if you get a well paid job as a model, do not neglect your education as most models have a use by date.

At sixteen, it is a pretty high aspiration. To be a model can be very rewarding. Depends what you want to model, underwear, do you have the six pack to sell it, do you show a good size basket? I know that catalogue stores use boy-next-door-looking teens to model their teens clothing lines. I have a friend in Toronto who got into it quite accidentally and at 18 he was making enough money to put himself through school and drive a Lamborghini. He had his own condo and lived the good life. He was also level-headed and had focus as to where he wanted to take it in future.

It is not necessarily your look but how the camera loves you that can make the difference. you could be good-looking and not photogenic.

Height does not really matter as variety is the spice of fashion. The markets today open to Asia and other cultures where men are not that tall, need to see that they too can buy clothes that will fit.

Good luck in your endeavor.

To get a good job in the modeling industry it's best if you go to a good modeling school first.
Also, don't take jobs you find in the newspaper, especially if they want money from you on the first day you work for them.
Once you find a good modeling agency (the best ones have been open for at least ten years, if not more) make sure you DO NOT sign anything until your attorney looks it over. That way if you don't like the representation you're getting from the company, they;re won't be a huge contract that says you have to stay.
Also, if they want more than 20% of your earnings, they're not good.
That's all I know and I hope I helped!!

Ask around. Workout. Get into the latest fashion. Make sure you're tall enough. Make sure you're good looking enough, obviously.

Be a male model! Get some pictures taken and do whatever it takes!

Hope this helps you! :)
