Question: Best teen athletic wear?

My nephew is big on weightlifting, and so was I as a teen so I understand. But he's been having some issues with his "areas" and when I lifted, i always wore a jockstrap. To him, that is out of the question, its just "not cool and very gay" in his words. all he wants to wear is boxers, but if boxer briefs would be any help he may 'convert' so to speak. If it would be of any help to change, i would appreciate your response.

They have these sort of bicycle shorts/underwear type things that I like. You can get a pair for about 9 bucks by Starter at Wal-Mart and they keep you in place and also absorb sweat. Totally acceptable to wear under your workout shorts...most guys do.

A bit hung up over fashion it would seem if he won't wear what most guys wear- briefs-- when working out. Really silly to wear boxers when working out. Hot and no support.
