Normal, as long as you pee hygienically like in a toilet or even the shower doesn't matter how you do it. Lots of guys are groggy and half asleep when they get up anyway, and many pee all over the place. Also most guys have a semi hard penis from morning wood and hard to aim downwards, so sitting down works best anyway when that happens. keep in mind the concept that guys have to pee standing up all the time is just some butch concept made up in the last 50 years or so. No one really cares how anyone else pees as long as they don't have to clean it up.
I have done it before, especially after getting up and being groggy and exhausted...didn't want to pee on everything in the bathroom...LOL
That is very normal. When your sleeping, your body settles so when you awake all the liquids you were drinking is ready to be released. You should do this every morning

Generally guys stand up to pee, but whatever floats your boat I guess.
