Does having a colonoscopy hurt?!

Question: Does having a colonoscopy hurt?
Answers:

For me the worst part was prepping for it. They give you an awful tasting mixture to drink that will flush you out.. It's not fun. During the procedure you will be given a mild sedative and you shouldn't have much discomfort. Some people experience gas and bloating afterwards but nowadays most Doctors have equipment that sucks out the access air as they withdraw the scope. Don't fret, it's really not that bad!

Good luck

No, the procedure itself does not hurt. You'll be asleep for the procedure. However, the next few days, you may feel some soreness in your lower back.

My mother recently had a colonoscopy.

You will have a sedative you wont have any pain and little discomfort. Self prepping is the uncomfortable part when you have to have you bowels completely clean.

Not a bit but I had a nasty bubble of gas afterward and couldn't get rid of it for all too long and the preparatory cleaning out was a literal pain in the you-know-where.

If you have inflammation in the colon, it will hurt. It can be uncomfortable but it wont last for long.
