Is it normal a guy to think of getting married for you on your first date?!

Question: Is it normal a guy to think of getting married for you on your first date?
I was with my ex only for a month and a half. We spoke with him on facebook for about 7 days. Before even to have our first date he changed his status on facebook to in a relationship. Then we have met for our first date. He was talking to me on our first date about would I change my surname if we get married. Soon after our first date he booked a holiday abroad for us.On the second week he met me with his family and introduced me as his girlfriend. He started planning to move out of his mother's place and get a place with me as he wanted me to sell my house. He became very possessive and controlling verbally and emotionally abusive. We had a few arguments where he shouted at me. On the second argument when he shouted at me I told him I had enough and I don't want him to bother me anymore. Now I am thinking was his behaviour normal?

Answers:

This man is bad news. The first part, up through introducing you to his parents and planning a vacation, sounds like moving too fast and being desperate. The rest is classic controlling/abusive behavior. This is not normal behavior, rather a sign of social maladjustment. The man is not ready for a healthy relationship. You are well rid of him.

no clearly it was not it sounds like he has to be with some-one, does not matter who just some-one
i think you did the right thing, maybe he wanted you to sell your house coz it was money he was after

my head

Amber,
Sounds like a freak. Run fast in the opposite direction.
Trust your instincts. Most of the time they arre spot on.

No. At the beginning all he wants to is have S*X. Then after at least 5 years he may want to marry you.

It would be ok if it was just him liking you, but I think he's just a control freak if I'm honest

Of what caste is he? This makes a difference.

No, he is effed up, lose him quick!

From the get go, you should have realized that there was something askew with him. If a guy asks you, casually if you would change your surname if you married... it may be a question to determine how set in your ways you are. But by the time he introduced you to his family as GF and booked a holiday, you should have told him to take a step back and slow things down to "back to getting to know one another first" but in your case you were lucky and I hope after the second episode, you broke it off and are looking elsewhere.

Good luck to you my dear. This guy gives his gender a bad rap.
