Do you have to have sex in order for a vasectomy to become effective?!

Question: Do you have to have sex in order for a vasectomy to become effective?
I read somewhere online that after having a vasectomy it takes about 10-15 ejaculations before it becomes effective. Would the vasectomy still be effective after a period of time without ejaculations?

Answers:

Yes, you have to clean out his pipes, as it were.

We usually call it "clearing the pipes" of the remaining sperm.

Of course if you do not have sex the sperm will eventually die off. But seriously, a man gets a vasectomy so he can have all the sex he could ever want and then some. If you do not plan on having sex, then a vasectomy is not needed.

Being that my semen looks exactly the same as before the surgery, there is no way to tell if it contains sperm except for taking a sample to the lab for analysis.

I had mine almost 25 years ago. I never have to "pull out" before I come or anything like that.

Either sex or masturbation is needed to kind of clean out you tubes. In my cause the the doctor advised me to use condoms for the first month after the vasectomy. Then use a small jar, ejaculate into the jar, and bring the ejaculation sample in for testing. He then let me know I was good to go without a condom.

You have to ejaculate approximately 30 times and get 2 sperm tests that read "0 sperm count" for the vasectomy to be considered "successful".

Experience

no i was told by a buddy that it was 25 ejaculations to clear out the sperm and he said he got his goo tested and there was still some so he did it again and is now offically sperm free.
