What age in males is safe to start lifting weights?!

Question: What age in males is safe to start lifting weights?
Answers:

I have read that prepubic boys should not get seriously into weight work as it can affect their development, but from 14 or so onwards sensible exercise and weight training can give positive results for body development. I stress they said sensible weight training and not just see who can lift the most weight as that will risk serious damage to muscles. Use weight that you can lift but does make the muscles work to lift them, and I read that the weight you lift should be able to be repeated about 10 times. If you can do a lot more then the weight is too light and if you can't do 10 repetitions of it straight off then it is too heavy. Be sensible and best to do it with a buddy who can help catch the weights if they are going to fall on you if they get out of control. Remember to also think about what you eat as you will get much better results if you are eating a healthy diet.

Well i believe any age over 11-12 is safe to weight lift. There has been no scientifically proven evidence saying that it is bad. Just start light and practice perfect technique. Technique is the most important thing about weightlifting.

And remember if your trying heavier always have a spotter(someone to help you in case its to heavy).

Started lifting at 12 years old. Still no problems :)

I've been training with weights since 13 and I am 6'1'' now and 16 years old. So it won't stunt your growth if this is your concern, but don't train with extreme weights especially in exercises like squats and deadlifts.

After puberty. You can tear muscles and reverse muscle and bone development.

14 and up. I would go too crazy until your early 20's. I didn't get my best results until I was 26.

as long as your are ready to hit the gym and read to face the challenge..

Don't left heavy until 15
