Question: Did my exercise i did help today?
i went to the gym for 2 hours. I burnt about 500 calories and i did some weight lifting (very little) and some sit-ups. I drank lots of water while i was doing that. When i came home i ate a bowl or cereal and a sandwhich. Thats all i ate today. since i ate this did my exercise just go to waist. By the way im 14 and im 145 lb and im 5'5", if that helps for anything.

you have to eat regularly otherwise your body goes into starvation mode, slowing down your metabolism. This makes it very difficult to lose weight. So what you ate sounds healthy. As you are 14 I'd recommend having 6 small meals a day as you are growing and your body will get hungrier quicker. E.g.
Breakfast (cereal with milk and a glass of juice)
Snack (fruit/yoghurt)
Lunch (Sandwhich and some fruit/yoghurt)
Snack (fruit/yoghurt/ cheese and biscuits)
Dinner (50% vegetables, 25% meat and 25% carbohydrate (e.g. potato, pasta, rice etc)). That's what your plate should look like
Snack (milk/ Yoghurt, fruit toast/fruit, juice)

That's a pretty good diet.
