why is my pee yellow and why does it stink?!


Question: Why is my pee yellow and why does it stink?
very few times my pee comes out clearish. almost all the time it comes out yellow and it stinks. why?

Ok, ignore all these answers that say you are dehydrated. Urine is yellow. Whether you are a cow, a human, a dog or a monkey. It is yellow. if your urine is clear all the time, you are drinking way too much water and flushing out your kidneys, overworking them. Drink when thirsty or when working out or in very dry, hot conditions. Urine stinks too, because it is liquid waste products from your body. Smells like pee. It can stink more with certain foods, also can be deeper yellow with certain foods or if you take any vitamin supplements. Vitamin B2 turns it bright yellow in fact and some foods with lots of that vitamin will cause it to be more yellow. But you are normal.



Do you drink water a lot? Your urine comes out clear because so. If there was a certain day that you were drinking a lot of soda, alcohol, or juices (Or eating high fat foods) your urine will smell and come out a deep yellow.

You could also be dehydrated. Check websites for more information on this and see if you have the symptoms.



when its yellow you're dehydrated. drink more water, squash or teas that contain hot water (twinings do lots of flavours) and it'll be light or clear more often - i notice i have to drink quite a fair bit before my pee is clear and i have to keep drinking that amount constantly if i want it to stay that way.



You need to drink more water. Yellow urine is usually an indicator of dehydration.

Odor however can be either from the lack of water, as the less water in the urine, the more of other chemicals there will be such as ammonia, and ammonia has a powerful odor.



You are obviously not drinking enough water. A good rule of thumb is:take your body weight in pounds, divide in half. That's the number of ounces you should drink daily.
(example:say you weigh 100 pounds, divided by two=50. Fifty ounces i the amount of water you should drink daily.)



You may be a little dehydrated.

Drink more water.
