Sperm count + Competitive Swimmer + Cholorine?!

Question: Sperm count + Competitive Swimmer + Cholorine?
Is there any link to low sperm count or infertility in competitive swimmers due to the frequent and prolonged exposure to chlorine in the pool? Either inadvertently ingested or skin exposure

Answers:

There is no link that I am aware of. Infertility in men is usually caused by some sort of medical or exposure to something truly toxic - like radiation. If there was any link to a low sperm count and chlorine in swimming pools I'm sure the FDA would make swimming pools advise people about it.

Even though pool water contains chlorine its actually still in really small amounts. They measure chlorine in parts per million, its that low.

No. Chlorine can't possible soak through your skin to get to the testicles. If it could a low sperm count would be the LEAST of your worries. It would cause very serious infections. Plus if chlorine could penetrate the skin then we wouldn't be using it in pools!

No.

Because if chlorine was getting in your body, a low sperm count would be the least of your problems. Chlorine would poison and then kill you bro.

There is no correlation between the two.
Stop worrying about stuff you have no control over.
