I had a lot of foam in my urine today..?!

Question: I had a lot of foam in my urine today..?
Ok. I have read about this because I was curious on the subject. I heard it has something to do with protein.. BUT I was told that it was only when it was coming OUT foamy. Mine comes out normal and after going into the toilet foams up. I don't usually see foam but I see little bit every now and then but today I went and there was a lot of foam. But to give you the background of what happened yesterday that might have caused this..
I'm 18
Yesterday I spent all day in the heat of a big amusement park. Drank Gatorade and water all day nothing else. Today I woke up and had to pee really bad so I went and there was more foam than I have seen before. Any idea?

Answers:

Foam in the urine is common and is almost always normal. It has been suggested in the past that it is related to protein in the urine but that is essentially an old wives tale. Although massive proteinuria can be associated with foam the usual cause is a high velocity of flow associated with a highly concentrated urine, (like a first morning urine). You have ruled out the only serious cause with your dipstick. Personally, I would not see a doctor at this point because you are almost certainly normal.

It's a sign of protein in urine. Did you eat a lot of meat? Most often not serious.
Also it's a sign of kidney or gallbladder trouble.

It is very common for it to foam, if that is all that ever happens to you you are a lucky boy.

Most of those bubbles are caused by your pee making contact with the toilet water..so if you take a big piss naturally there will be more bubbles. If you are that worried go get some blood work done to make sure there is nothing wrong with you kidneys....
