I know this is disgusting but...............?!

Question: I know this is disgusting but...............?
OKay, I coughed up a little piece of something. Look at your pinkie finger nail. What I coughed up was half the size of your pinkie finger-nail. It was cream colored and it smelled horrible. My throat has been hurting these past few days. Now, I have coughed things like this before but its been years. What was this?

P.S. Sorry this was so gross.

Answers:

The white smelly piece of matter happened to me, but I didn't cough it up.
What happened to me was that I felt something stuck at the back of my mouth.
When I looked in a mirror i noticed there were pockets in the back of my mouth, which I thought may have been my tonsils and they developed holes in them I have never had my tonsils out.
When I flared them up with my tongue, the white matter would squeeze up almost out of the pocket.
I took a tooth pick and flared them up and pushed the matter out. When I took it out it smelled bad.

From time to time it happens and I just work it out. I used to think that perhaps it was food particles, getting wedged in there but they would never look and smell the same. Food particles may be part of it, but I know that it has to be from the lymph nodes under the jaw.
Having taken Anatomy and physiology classes, my conclusion was that it was a waste from my lymphatic system that execrated through the gland.

You may also have a case of strep, because your throat is sore, and you did not specify whether the white matter was hard or mucus.
Strep infection would produce a smelly substance.
I never went to the doctor but figured I had strep once because my little brother came home from the doctor with medicine for strep throat.
The next day my throat started swelling up so much that it hurt to swallow.
I figured I had strep, and must have picked it up from silverware or a glass that was still contaminated with the bacteria.
Being poor that I am, I could not afford to go to the doctor, so I used my massage Therapy knowledge.
I started the next morning gargling Epsom Salt (acts as a anti-inflammatory), to reduce the swelling.
I repeated in the evening.
The next day I could tell a difference. The third day something weird happened.
The swelling was really reduced, but in my throat All day I could feel as if there was mucus (snot) dangling in my throat. All day I tried hacking swallowing drinking water vigorously trying to get it out, and nothing helped.
The next day it was no longer there and my swelling was gone.
I think the build up from the swelling worked itself out of a gland and clung until finally detaching.
I have yet to go to a doctor and see if I have my tonsils still intact, because I also think that maybe it was not strep andtonsillitiss and one of them detached from part of the healing process and I swallowed and passed it.
I would not know until I get it checked out.

If you have never had your tonsils out, then maybe it may beTonsillitiss. They say that it is muchworser when your and adult and you never had your tonsils out. I was already an adult when it happened and my throat hurt something terrible.
Nowadays, doctors are more reluctant to not remove tonsils as they did to children years ago.
Funny how doctors realize to leave organs alone instead of cutting and yanking like years ago.

All in all, get it checked out bud.

Hope this helps.
