How does one avoid these diseases...?!

Question: How does one avoid these diseases...?
I think India sounds like a cool place to visit for a while. But, there are some diseases in India i was hoping to know how to avoid them? are they curable? and are there immunity shots you can take before hand? These diseases are : chikungunya, dengue fever, Japanese encephalitis, malaria, rabies, and leptospirosis. Please help with advice? Thanks!:)

Answers:

You can get a rabies shot. As for the others talk to the humans relations area of your hospital.
Malaria requires a series of pills to protect you and you are only protected while taking the pills. The pills last around 6-8 weeks. IF you will be there longer than that, there is no point in taking the medication since it won't protect you the full time.
Encephalitis is inflammation of the brain, there is really no way to prevent that.
