you cannot deny what your body is naturally craving. Of course you need to follow your conscience but remember it is much easier for older men and women to preach that masturbation is lust because
A: they know what lust is
B: they don't have the raging hormones you have to deal with.
Enjoy yourself while you're young, It has nothing to do with Christ and your values as a christian. Sex is personal and intimate, nothing to share with your faith.

If you haven't already started, then don't. It is so easy to get addicted to.
At 17, you have a full long life. Don't do something just because it feels good. Lots of things feel good that don't make you a better man. If your spirit is telling you no, you won't be happy extinguishing that prompting.
On the other hand, if you have already started, as most boys have, don't give yourself a major guilt trip. Try to find some other interests that fill your time, and at least make masturbation the exception, and not your focus.

It is biologically normal for a human to crave sexual relations with another! Without this craving/lust/desire there would be NO motivation to have sex! Didn't God say, "Go forth, be fruitful and multiply"? Without the desire to do so, we would not be able to fulfill this!
Religion calls it lust and casts it as a sin in order to control you!

i am 26. i still masterbate. i dont know how it is for health but i enjoy it. nothing wrong has happened to me yet to i think its fine.

It really depends on your religion. But indeed, it is not wrong. Over 60% of the men I know do it. It wont hurt you or threaten your life...
