Ok well theirs a ball on my thyroid gland I'm 17 should I be worried about this or is it a goider or could it be something else also is thyroid cancer curable

Answers:

The likelyhood of you having a goiter are very , very low. Goiters are generally from a deficiency in a common element -- ie: Salt. Though small benign tumors 'can' develop.. but even that is unlikely.

There are lymph nodes in this area that can become inflammed from sickness, or other immune processes that are perfectly normal.

If it has existed for more than a few months it wouldn't hurt to have your family physician quickly examine it with his own hands.. but I highly suspect it is of no consequence, and 'could' even be part of your normal anatomy you have become hyper aware of.

If it is really visible in the mirror or when others see it (ie: people have commented on it) then there is a higher chance it is of consequence, but this doesn't seem to be the case.

No cancer is curable. Though many cancers are (especially in the young) are treatable until they are essentially killed and then you are in remission. After remission of several to 5 years the chances of the cancer reappearing are VERY low.. near the levels of one who had never had cancer.

But, if it is cancer in the thyroid it is very treatable, as it can be surgically treated, chemically treated, radiologically treated, and so on. Verses if it were in your lungs, things are much more limited.

With that said,.. the chances of this being cancer are astronomically low.

Give yourself some peace of mind.. go have a quick checkup with ANY medical doctor. I imagine he/she would have a quick feel of the area and that would be the end of it. At the most , to be thorough, some imaging would be taken to verify what was palpated.

Try not to worry,.. and again.. go see a doctor asap. Not because it is serious, but just so you can stop worrying.

Take care,
