Can muscular bodybuilders win 200m running race at international level like Olym!

Question: Can muscular bodybuilders win 200m running race at international level like Olympics?Isn't 18secs ideal to win?
They get sudden powerful burst of energy and thundering power for atleast 20secs. 18secs is less time than this. Dont you think they are favourites to win 200m race?

Dude, hell no!!! What are you smoking?!? Professional bodybuilding has nothing to do with elite track & field. Bodybuilders train for that extremely cut, lean, bulky "look." They don't train to increase their foot speed, running mechanics, flexibility, athletic explosiveness, reaction time, or number of fast-twitch muscles, all of which are important for elite sprinters. Additionally, bodybuilders have way too much muscle mass to sprint efficiently. Just look at the build of a cheetah or gazelle for comparison. Now those animals are lean and FAST.

Years of running, research

At olympic levels you have to have focused training and hone your body for the specific events in which you are competing. Whilst bodybuilders may have explosive leg power they also have lots of chest and arms muscle weighing them down that isn't really helping them to run any faster.

More muscle mass will also cause them to become tired out quicker although this is less of a concern for short distance races.

It is by no means impossible for a bodybuilder to train so that his body is more suited to the event but I don't think a body builder could just start racing as he was and be competitive at an international level. They have too much 'unhelpful' bulk in the wrong places.
