Question: Is it possible to connect electrodes to your muscles and build muscles using a bodybuilder?
Okay, many of you were like "WHAT?!?"

This question is based off a Direct TV commercial (see above) I just saw. This russian guy is sitting there telling us how he lives in excess and you see that he has electrodes connected to a weightlifter and as the weightlifter lifts the russian's muscles grow. I know it's TV and probably NOT possible, but I wonder if it is. Let me know. Thanks

Answers:

No it's not possible. They have types of devices like that already out for purchase. However electric shock does cause the muscles to contract but contraction isn't what builds muscles. A lot of it is the tension or force between you and the weight. Since you don't get that with an electric shock obviously it's going going to result in muscle gain.

This is another gimmick to make money off of people by telling them they can develop nice bodies or loss excess pounds with little or no physical effort. They are all falsehoods; don't waste your time or money. Figure out a diet and exercise plans that works for you, including fitting into your schedule. If you're not willing to do this, then you won't be able to look and feel the way you want to. Good luck.

Yes you can stop muscle waste and these machines 'ems' are often used in disabled people who are unable to exercise, I used these machines on aching calf muscles to work them out although fully admit recently I started stretching exercises on a bench when out jogging and it works better but as a supplementary help they are ok.
