shaving 'bumfluff' moustache?!

Question: Shaving 'bumfluff' moustache?
If you dont shave the "bumfluff" from your face and leave it for as long as possible eg from 15 till you are 18, does this mean that in the long term your moustache will grow at a slower rate thn others? my friend thinks this is true yet i think its a complete lie and it make him look dumb, plus it looks ugly

Answers:

They are just too lazy to shave. And trust me, I'm a girl, and I think doing that looks horrible.

Shaving does nothing to affect growth rate of hair. The hair doesn't "know" it has been shaved. One thing shaving does is make the hair seem courser, because of the sharpness of the sheared off edges, but it doesn't make hair thicker or grow faster.

Really, one needs only to worry about his own moustache, "bum-fluff" or not. If he wants to wear his peach fuzz stache, that's his business.
Hair is going to grow in at it's own rate anyway, whether it's shaved regularly or not.
