Mini Stroke/TIA possible for 18 year old?!

Question: Mini Stroke/TIA possible for 18 year old?
I am 18 and about 5'8 120 (male) . Almost all lean muscle. Very low body fat. I eat pretty healthy and exercise and lift weights almost everyday. So I highly doubt I had one. But for like the past month I have been getting this weird flutter feeling in my left thigh every once in a while, but there is no pain when it happens so I was really not worried about it. But last night my vision all of sudden got a little blurry in my right eye so I looked it up and it said maybe a TIA but I doubted because of my age and health. But it said in the morning I could have trouble swallowing and now I actually am having a little trouble. The only thing I have had is water and I have to drink it really slow. And I had no headache or anything like that and I know it wasn't a migraine because I already them and have prescription Treximet for that. Should I call my pediatrician?

Answers:

The description you gave of your body makes you sound healthy. However if you are having concerns about your health you need to get to your doctor so he can check you over. There have been way too many young people dieing just like that. It doesn't hurt to get a check up to make sure everything is good. There are no second tries at life, you get one shot and at 18 you are just getting your life started. So get an appointment for your doctor to check you out from head to toe. Good luck.

Well first off you sound like a well educated guy which I respect. As you know a TIA is a transient ischemic attack which is basically when you have a mini stroke. But from your symptoms it sounds like something else. But i'm not going to say what I think. My recommendation is that you write down all your symptoms, what time they occur and other relevant information. Take that to your doctor and he will be able to diagnose you correctly. It doesn't sound like anything you should be concerned about but you should let your doctor know. Hopefully it helps
