Is it possible for teens to get alot of muscles during puberty?!

Question: Is it possible for teens to get alot of muscles during puberty?
My son wants to know.

It is, but if you actually try to train for it, you will usually be sacrificing height for muscle mass. That is why you see so many lifelong athletes not so tall as a non-athlete of the same age. The difference will be more pronounces as they go through high school. Proteins needed for a growth spurt are instead burned as energy or converted to muscle mass.

Of course.. Kinda depends on genetics though. If everyone in the family is small stature then he probably will be too. Same if everyone is bigger, then he will probably have to work harder to keep tone. One muscle in particular will come and go quite a bit during puberty, lol. He probably shouldn't expect much until the end of high school or even a bit after.

I was 6'2" 175 with a 4% body fat when I was a freshman in highschool (age 14). So I know when muscle can come and how to get it.

During and just after puberty is one of the best times for building muscles, this is when the child's body is building up the most in the shortest amount of time.

Yes certainly. And actually, before puberty. Around here where there are lots of kids working in agriculture, it is not uncommon to see a little boy 9 or 10 yrs old with pretty impressive muscle development.

Yes, thats when it all starts.
