How do I stop razor bumps after shaving my head?

I'd start by using a granular scrub prior to shaving. I currently use St. Ives Medicated Apricot Scrub (I've also used Clinique and Anthony Logistics Scrub). They all work...it's just a matter of preference (sent, feel, price, etc.).
Use of these products has dramatically reduced the number of in-grown hairs and red bumps I experience.
Also, I'd cut back on the number of times per week that you shave on top...especially if you have any redness or bumps from a previous shave.
