Trying to gain weight but always tiered from work?

when i finish work i am so knackered but i still get down to the gym and do a work out but the recovering is just not happening can anyone help

If you're not already consume protein shakes. If you don't have time to make your food I'd recommend a shake with a 25/75 ratio with regard to protein/carbohydrate.

Here's a quick recipe for you for after the gym that I like to make:
Fried steak (protein) with brown rice, wholemeal pasta or noodles - brown rice noodles or buckwheat noodles are best (carbs)
- Boil your carbs - rice takes the longest at 25-30 mins, pasta 10 mins and noodles only around 4 mins.
- Fry the steak 2 mins each side (medium rare)
- fry some veg with it for 2 mins (mushrooms, corgettes, onions, carrot, broccoli, green beans, peppers all go well)
- add some (pasta/stir-fry) sauce for the last 1 min of cooking.

Organic meat and veg is best for the nutrient content. And there you go a balanced nutritious meal that can take less than 10 mins to prepare. After being 9 1/2 stone for years I'm now pushing 12 stone eating a balanced diet and I'm not taking any protein shakes at the moment.

A good lunch - try smoked (wild fish is best if you can get it) fish with salad and rice/pasta.

Breakfast - a big bowl of museli is full of protein, complex carbs and fibre.
