The only FDA approved medications for hair loss are Propecia and Rogaine. Propecia is a medication based on a prostate medication. In very low dose, it may promote some hair growth. Rogaine is a blood pressure medication that has the side effect of hair growth. When applied topically, it may promote hair growth. Honestly, both medication is meant for maintaining what you got, not necessarily get back what you lost.
As for other techniques, ie transplants, etc, they are only temporary. Male pattern boldness is a genetic problem and is difficult to reverse.
