What's the best way to gain weight?

So I'm a skinny guy with a high metabolism. I've tried eating more and adding protein shakes into my diet, but I don't seem to be gaining much weight.

It's as hard for some people to gain weight as it is for people to lose weight. You need a regular intake of more calories than you burn. Toning exercises will help too. To gain 2.2 lb a month you need an extra 300-350 calories a day.
Keep a food diary. Eat 3 meals plus 2-3 snacks. Make the meals bigger. Have plenty of healthy snacks on hand. If you're too active, take time to relax every day. Once you get up to your target weight, keep up your increased food intake to fuel your exercise.
