Is it normal to be pissed off about being circumcised?!

Question:

Is it normal to be pissed off about being circumcised?

I didn't find out what circumcision was till about age 12. Then when I realized I was cut, I felt robbed of my manhood. Is this normal, and is there a way to reverse it and regain nerves on the head of my penis?

Answers:

Many men are pissed off about being circumcised as infants without their consent. It makes perfect sense that a person would be angry about a part of their body that's removed without their consent when nothing's wrong with it, so it's a normal response.

Technically circumcision doesn't remove the nerves in the glans (penis head) but the glans tends to become more insensitive over time as the surface gets thicker to protect the nerves underneath. Rather, circumcision removes a lot of nerves in the foreskin that may otherwise contribute to sexual sensitivity (link 1). Once removed there's no way to regain/regrow these nerves.

There is a thing called "foreskin restoration" where the skin of the penis is stretched and a new pseudo-foreskin is created. In this way, you could recreate a functional foreskin and experience what a foreskin feels like and the glans will become more sensitive, but the nerves lost in the original foreskin won't come back. Regardless, it'll probably feel better after restoration than before.

Also, it takes a lot of time and dedication for it to work (months to years), so you'll need to decide if it's worth your effort. For most guys who've gone through it's been worth it for them. See the remaining links for info on foreskin restoration. Good luck with whatever you decide.
