When I do situps I get a pain in the front of my neck on both sides? What can I!

Question:

When I do situps I get a pain in the front of my neck on both sides? What can I do to prevent this?

The pain is around the two main arteries in the frontal neck region and I feel like I'm unintentionally making those muscles tense, what can I do?

Answers:

That's common when you are not using just your abs when you do situps. One way to fix it is to just do crunches, instead of going from floor all the way up. You can do a search online on "crunches" for correct technique.

Until your ab muscles are stronger, you will still notice the muscle tensing in your neck a little, I think.
