Pain in upper part of right chest?!

Question:

Pain in upper part of right chest?

Husband quit smoking in Jan. after 40 years of doing it. Now he is suffering from pain in the upper right side of chest every time he eats. I have given him Tums, Zantac 150 and nothing helps. He is very uncomfortable when he lies down and his right arm gets numb. He refuses to go to the Dr. I am just asking what does everybody think it might be?

I have looked on the net and can't single out a cause. Thank you all who will respond.
