Its darker at the bottom and just suddenly changes to a lighter color, just like a tan line...

I think I know what you are talking about. If you are circumscised.. it is the point where your foreskin scar begins.... the remainder of your foreskin has been removed. Mine is the same.

If you are not circumscised or if it doesn't occur at that location... some guys have a skin pigmentation.... called ... actually I don't recall what it's called.. but it's like the colour of the skin is blotchy from dark to light.... a bit like a birthmark does but opposite. Anyway.. it's not uncommon if it is that.
