I'm a skinny guy, how do I transform?!

Question:

I'm a skinny guy, how do I transform?

Hi, I'm 18 year male who is asking for help from anyone. I am self-conscious (not spelled right huh?) about myself. I am skinny and boney. I weigh 135 lbs. A lot of people have made fun of me in the past about my body, which really sucks if you've been in the same situation. I've never lifted weights seriously like my other friends who are members at a gym. I only have 2 20lb dumbbells in my place. What my main question is, how do I go from skinny-boney guy to a lean-toned-beefed up guy. I'm not talking about mass muscle or getting ripped, just toned with some meat on me. Any advice?

Answers:

Well the problem with being skinny but toned is that many people make more fun of people like that then just skinny.

I used to be a wrestler and started out in the light weights I know what Im talking about.

For you I would stay away from the light weights(20lb dumbbells) And actually start lifting weights. To gain more mass requires a change in diet. Lots of carbs and protein. Many people might tell you to eat more protein than anything, but that is not the case. Its actually carbs.

But since you asked for tone this is what you do. Go to the gym, stay away from the heavy weights, (Maxing your weights out) and just focus on the light weights and many reps. Since you sound like an already thin person it will probalbly only take about 1/2 yr before you start to see results.

Many people will tell you starting a workout routine is easy, but it is very difficult for anyone to continue any routine without a mentor. reasons vary but the number one that remains consistant is that people want immediate results, and when they do not get them right away, they figure the new reoutine they started a month ago is not working.

Tranforming the shape of your body does not happen over night. It may even be a year before you see any visible results. So my best advice is to get someone who is behind you before you get started. Maybe one of your "friends" who workout at a gym.

Review:
Diet: Lots of protein, and a heck of a lot more Carbs.
Workout routine: Light weights and lots of reps.
Backup: Get someone to keep you on the "path"-could not think of a better word, I think it sounds corny hope it works.
