Losing weight?!

Losing weight?
Is there anyway i can exercise and i can gain muscle and lose some weight while doing this. Will doing sit-ups everyday help the process or will it do nothing? What would be the most productive exercise. I don't have a lot of upper body strength so i need that too.
Answers:
Sit ups will tone your stomach muscles, but if you want to tone your upper torso you need to join a gym or do some weight training. Eat plenty of low fat protein (Chicken,fish,eggs) while body building, but if you want to lose weight cut down on sugar and carbs and fat.
