Growth and puberty (Very specific...sorry)?!

Question:

Growth and puberty (Very specific...sorry)?

Background knoweledge: Avg. young man who moved away from St. Barbara school into the GATE program from 5-6th grade.

I'm really scared now....I'm 12! and I am only 1 inch taller (now 5'0) from last year (5th grade)

I really wouldn't mind or care about my growth during the pubertal ages but I was shocked once I saw that after a few months my best friend from St. Barbara had grown about 3 inches(5'3 now)... we have always had the same height since 3 yrs old =(. and he says he is medium for his height at St. Barbara...

I do have a mind of childhood, (I still have little stuffed doggy companions).

I know that I am going through puberty, or maybe I'm not and I just work out alot (I have a 6-pack and can beat my 5'3 friend in arm wrestling 27 times in a row o.o)

Is 5'0 a good height for a 12 year old? Anything wrong with me? Is my childish mind blocking my puberty? How will sleep and excercise contribute to height and growth? What are the stages of puberty?

Answers:

Relax, man! Hang in there, you aren't short for 12 at all. You and all your friends are going to grow at different rates and not catch up with each other until your late, late teens. You want to get good sleep and proper nutrition but your "childhood mind" isn't going to keep puberty away. I don't really think it's your time right now but it's probably not too far off. Wait it out, there's nothing to look that forward to anyway. :)
