I am currently working on a small movie production in the St. Charles area and was wondering if it is possible to obatain a blank firing gun from a local police department for use in the movie. I was also wondering if I would need a permit/license to use/have a blank gun. I am also wondering what steps I would need to take in order to obatain one from a local police department. I am 14 years old by the way, so I do realize I would obviousally need an adult to accompany me.

There was a handsome young actor filming a movie in the late 80's who was killed with a blank gun. He was supposed to put it up to his head for the scene and pull the trigger. Well even this type of gun has a "percussion" type explosion and it damaged his brain and he died. This type of gun is not a toy and should not be in the hands of anyone under 21 or over 21 if they don't know about gun safety. I'd be surprised if anyone allowed you to obtain one of these, even a loan. How about just a fake?
