I need your help, guys come on help me out?!


Question:

I need your help, guys come on help me out?

I am 5'8" and weight 200 and something lbs I am overweight plz help me out what can I do to help my self lose weight should I stop eating, runn alot till I fall and black out, use drug or pills I want to be like all other guys that have sixpack what can I do, should I join the army but then I am scared for them to take me to war, what would you do if you were me?


Answers:

Before you start dieting and exercising, talk to your doctor about your being overweight and get a physical to make sure your weight issue isn't medical.

The issue is probably mathmatical, if you take in more calories than you burn you will gain weight. But it gets complicated, because if you stop eating your body will automatically lower the rate that it burns energy. So DO NOT starve because yourself, that will only push your metabolism lower and you won't lose any weight. But DO cut back on your calorie intake, especially the unhealthy 'junk' food. Start by writing down everything that you eat.

And besides cutting calories from your diet, try to burn some by exercising. Start slowly and build from there. Maybe you could start with biking instead of running? But definitely try to work up until you are doing well over 20 minutes of cardiovascular exercise at least three days a week. More excerise is better than not eating, break a sweat and keep working for at least 20 minutes.

Discipline is key. To help you be disciplined you may need accountability, so find somebody who is willing to work with you.

And fight the 'I-can't-do-it' negative self talk and don't be down on yourself, because 200lbs isn't a terrible place to start. Start now by saying I CAN AND WILL do this!

(btw... I'm 5'-8" 138lbs, 7% body fat, workout 2-3 days a week and still don't have a six pack... bummer...)
