GNC Calcimate 1000?!

Question:

GNC Calcimate 1000?

So I was looking at different calcium supplements to take. I'm a male, 21 years old. I went through most of the options on the GNC website and found that GNC Calcimate 1000 looked the best for several reasons. It had over 100% of both calcium and Vitamin D, and the calcium was in the form of Calcium Citrate Malate, which is supposed to be the most soluble form. The one thing I was worried about though is that they are tablets, and I have heard that tablets don't absorb as well into the blood. Should I look for another product, or will this be fine?. Thanks

Firstly, I would like to ask if youre a bodybuilder with a diet based on protiens. If so, you do need an extra amount of calcium in your diet. But I would recommend milk as a better alternative. There are lots of milk with vitamin D and calcium nowadays. Especially people at a young age like you.

If youre not on bodybuilding but simply aiming for growth, a healthy intake of milk and going out in the sun to get vitamin D will be alright already.

GNC Calcimate 1000 is for people who usually are lacking in calcium and has a hard time absorbing it, usually for older people, or for people who have low bone density or oestoperosis.

Too much calcium may cause calcification of blood vessels, which the walls of blood vessels harden. I assume you are a healthy young person with no dificiency in calcium, so sticking to drinking milk will be much better.
