I noticed a pus-filled boil on the underside of my member last week. Is it dange!

Question:

I noticed a pus-filled boil on the underside of my member last week. Is it dangerous?

Some important details that may matter -
1) Temperatures have been intensely hot (around 40 degrees celsius) in my city for the past few months
2) I drive a motorbike regularly. Am mentioning it because I read somewhere that it affects sperm production.
3) The boil is red and located on the underside of my member, near the base. It is on the skin and (thankfully), not rooted on the member.
4) The boil has got pus in it, but it hasnt diminished in size despite repeated cleaning.
5) I am some 10-15 kg overweight
6) This is the first time I have seen something like this. I am an extremely healthy and strong 22-year old
7) My last sexual encounter was exactly a year ago, but I trust my partner

Also...if I do need to see a doc, who should I see? A general practitioner, dermatologist or urologist?

Answers:

A boil is nothing to worry about. They are painful, though. Usually they are caused by bacteria/sweat clogging a pore. It then becomes grossly infected. Make sure you dry yourself off really well - maybe try a hairdryer in that area. Then use powder. This will prevent chafing in the area and boils. If it doesn't go away in a week or so, maybe call the doctor?
