Testicular torsion is a medical/surgical emergency. Loss of the testicle can occur if treatment is not sought out immediately. Torsion causes severe pain and discoloration of the effected testicle. A less serious condition that can cause testicle pain is epidydimitis, which is treated with antibiotics like erythromycin.
