Advice On Quiting Chewing Tobacco?!

Question:

Advice On Quiting Chewing Tobacco?

I have been chewing tobacco for around ten years now. I'm wanting to at the most quit, and at the least slow down or change to a tobaccoless chew. The end of june will be about ten years since I started chewing, and I wanted to set that as a goal time to quit. I've been wanting to quit for a while now because of price hikes and for better health reasons as well. Can anyone suggest a good way to go about quiting, or even recomend a good tobaccoless chew that dont taste like dog crap. To be honest, I think it's more or less the habit of having a chew after eating or while working that I'll miss more than the nicotene. Anyway, hope someone can help, looking forward to your answers. Thanks in advance.

Answers:

This helps with smokers so I know it will help you even though you chew tobacco.

You even said it yourself that you will be missing more the action then the actual nicotine. Your brain is addicted to the behavior/action not the actual tobacco. So you will get cravings for it like clock work because you are used to doing something while you are chewing tobacco. The way to conquer it is to retrain your brain.

You do this by finding something you can always carry on you and that you can eat it. It has to be something you hate, that you despise. Something that disgust you so much. For instance many people do not like black liquorice. Every time you crave chew you eat some black liquorice. Do this religiously and it will work. You will be surprised how fast you get frustrated with it and stop craving it.
