Is it true that when lifting Weights for strength, the fastest way to get strong!

Question:

Is it true that when lifting Weights for strength, the fastest way to get stronger?

is to start doing squats first? I was told that doing squats makes your core stronger, which then makes it easier for your other muscles to stronger much faster than normal, any truth to that?

Answers:

Squats are a great exercise. The thing is that most everyone will have a fairly respectable squat number, where not everyone will have a great bench press. This is because every time you walk, run or bike, you use your quads. Bench pressing is different because you don't need to use your pecs and triceps as much, on a daily basis.

Basically, the best way to get stronger is a well designed mix of exercises. The way i like to go is:
Monday-Uppers (Bench, Incline Bench, Tricep pulldown)
Tuesday-Lowers (Squats, calf raises, dead lift, power clean)
Wednesday-Misc. (Obliques, abs, etc.)
Thursday-Uppers (Bench, Incline Bench, Tricep pulldown)
Friday-Lowers (Squats, calf raises, dead lift, power clean)

Another great way to increase strength is to take protein after you work out. If you're going for sheer muscle building, then you're gonna want to take about 1g of protein per pound of body weight. I prefer whey protein shakes.

Hope that helps
