Does the army test for steriods?!

Question:

Does the army test for steriods?

Answers:

No, the Army does not conduct random testing for performance enhancing drugs. A Company Commander can, however, test an induvidual suspected of taking these drugs. Because of the cost and the need to test more "popular" drugs, steroids are not one of the five drugs tested when units/individuals participate in normal testing. If a soldier is caught using them, he will be charged under the UCMJ as if it was any other illegal drug, and I don't believe that it is worth having that on your record.
You can imagine what would give a commander probable cause to test for the drug (putting on 30 lbs of mass in 8 weeks, unusual increase in strength and speed, etc...) Hope this helps.
