im 16 and i WAS asleep but my mom HAD
to say GOODNIGHT and **** and woke me up and now i cant get back to sleep
and since i am homeschooled i do this often and I was wondering if it is just societys standards to sleep at 10 and wake at 7 and I can break it and still be healthy if I stay up kinda late and sleep in so my question is this: if i stay up really late will it affect my growth if I sleep during the day

Socrates, Not sleeping will not stunt your growth so it doesnt matter, growth wise, if your mom wakes you up when she says good night. Thats actually very kind of her to think of you so much as to say good night to you at you rage. Had my mom done that for me maybe I wouldnt be the way I am today.

Now, that being said, it certainly doesnt help you get back to sleep either. You wont have to worry about the lack of sleep from a health perspective either my friend. When your body demands you sleep it will take it from you no matter what. I know this from experience.

The longest time I stayed awake for was eight days. I was not very functional after day seven. The body will reclaim what it wants nomatter what you do. I ended up sleeping 26 hours straight after that time...and I was still tired.

Since I was about teenager all I usually get is two ours sleep at a time. I would wake up...do somehting for about an hour...go back to sleep and wake up again in two hours. Now-a-days I get to bed around mid-night, wake up at two or two thirty, wake up again around five and get up to go to work.

I havent used an alarm clock to wake up since I was 12 and running a paper route. With four to five hours sleep a night I function fine during the day. OH - forgot - you were worried abuot height - I am 6 feet tall.

Hope this eases your mind.
