briefs provide more support for physical activity and for maintaining unexpected erections. They are also cooler so your equipment stays cooler and have less chaffing. The myth that boxers are better for sexual reproduction makes absolutely no sense, probably started by a boxer manufacturer. Yea, you hang loose if you are only wearing underwear, but once you are also tucked inside pants or shorts, the heavier boxer material bunches up and also doesn't allow your equip to get enough air circulation. Certainly the huge population explosion following WWII in the US wasn't fazed by briefs, since 90% or more guys wore briefs. I do say avoid the tighty whities, they are designed for young kids and have no room for sexually mature organs, buy some good quality low risers, no fly, with a good pouch front like Staffords at Penney's or some CK. You will pay more but they are really comfortable
