What would be involved with a vasectomy?
Is it an out-patient surgery=and how about
recovery time after the surgery?
Answers:
I called a non-profit clinic and made an appointment, for a consultation. I went for the 45 min, or so, one on one consultation (I lied and told the councilor that I had kids). A week or so later, I went to the group session where there were about 5 other guys. We watched a movie, and a slide show. After that, the ones that didn’t chicken out set up appointments.
I drove myself to the appointment on a Friday afternoon. I arrived early. It was a slow day, so I was done before my actual appointment time. I’d say it took a total of 15 min. I drove myself home. I only stopped at the movie rental, and then at Wal-Greens for the antibiotic.
They gave me a prescription for a pain killer. I never bothered to pick it up. I just took some aspirin.
On Monday I was back to work. I was back to having sex the following weekend.
It was a piece of cake.
I had no health insurance. I just paid cash. It was $250.
Did I mention that I was only 21, at the time, and the year was 1989? It was the greatest 22nd birthday present, to myself, ever.
