How to stay in shape after ACL surgery?

I just had ACL reconstruction and i feel like im going to gain alot of weight since i really cant do much. Any ideas as to how i can stay in shape?

Hopefully, you have a good physical therapist who can guide you through your recovery. You are right, it is a long process, but I can't stress enough the importance of doing therapy afterward. In the early stages of your recovery, I would suggest you stick with the upper body activities, such as weightlifting (moderate weights, of course)! You can burn quite a few calories and keep your upper body in good shape while the lower body catches up! After awhile, a stationary bicycle at low resistance can be helpful, but listen to your body and slow down at the first sign of pain. Also, use ice packs after exercise to help decrease pain and swelling. Good luck!
