Whats the best free-weight machines for a home gym?!

Question:

Whats the best free-weight machines for a home gym?

I'm a 16 year old male hardgainer that has been thinking about buying some free-weight equipment to try to bulk up over the summer. I am leaning torward free-weight because I hear it's much better due to the fact it forces support muscles to help hold the weight instead of relying on a machine to only allow one way movment with no effort keeping it in the correct place, if this is inncorect please correct me.
I have been thinking of buying an inclining/declining bench, somthing like http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d... and some dumbells and weights and such to go along with it, what else should I get to go along with it? Would I need to get another rack for squats and such or could I just pick it up from the bench. All advise is welcome and appreciated, thanks.

Answers:

As a hard gainer, probably need to be careful to not work out to much, or you'll burn to much calories. That may make a gym wiser choice, and you won't work out too often.

Once I cut back to only 2 sets, I finally started picking up some weight.

You want a machine on which you can do leg extensions and hamstring curl, as well as squats, lat pulls, bench row and bench press, and mil. press. Those work the big muscle groups to get some weight on you.
