Help with shaving?

I wet shave and get a good finish except for the area around my adam's apple, where the skin often gets red and rough or bleeds lightly no matter what technique I use or how much I lather up- it is sometimes quite sore.

I want to stay with wet shaving, but does anyone else encounter this problem? What's the best way of getting over it? The hair there literally grows flat against my neck so might this be part of the problem?

Have you tried using shaving oil rather than foam? I had the same problem and oil cleared it right up. King of shaves is good.

Don't use aftershave either, instead use an moisturiser cream to calm the area.
